Does Avelon charge commission on shipping and local tax rates?
Why doesn't the total order value match from Avelon to my website?
Unlike other affiliate platforms, Avelon does not charge commission on shipping rates or local tax rates (US or applicable countries dependent). Instead, we use a term called Total Commissionable Order Value, which is simply the total order value minus the shipping rate and local tax rate.
For this reason, your total order value in Avelon will not match your total order value in Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, CraftCMS or any other eCommerce provider. We do this because we don’t believe it’s fair on the brand/retailer to pay commission on charges which are outside of their control.
Unlike other platforms, we also use real time conversion rates from other currencies, meaning you’re always getting the accurate local currency rate.
How do you work out the Total Commissionable Order Value?

- Conversion rate from USD to GBP: 0.7774319 / 1.286286
- Total amount: $64.25 (£49.95)
- Shipping amount: $9.95 (£7.74)
- Local taxes: $2.30 (£1.79)
- Total commissionable order value: $52.00 (£40.43)
