Shopify - Avelon integration
Since Shopify started to upgrade all users to Checkout Extensibility, the way that Avelon integrates with Shopify is now performed through a web pixel. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to perform this (it’s reaaaaally easy).
Step-by-step guide
Don’t worry, this is potentially the easiest piece of coding you’ll ever do. We tested it on Andrew’s Dad and he did it in 3-minutes. Simple as you like. Difficulty? 1/10.
Please be aware: you must be onboarded to Avelon and have access to your Retailer PK to install this script.
Step one: Head to your settings tab on Shopify
On the bottom left of your Shopify Dashboard, click Settings
Step two: Click Customer Events
Once the screen opens up on your settings, go to Customer Events
Step three: Add a custom pixel
In the top right of the screen you'll see Add custom pixel. Click this button.
Step four: Name your custom pixel
You can name this whatever you like. It is only shown internally, but we recommend naming it Avelon Pixel
Step five: Set your customer privacy
Your customer privacy will be replicated from your core customer privacy settings, but you just need to select the below options. You can select these options by clicking the dropdown with the words Permission and Data sale.
Permission: Not required
Data sale: Data collected does not quality as data sale
Step six: Enter the code your account manager has sent you
Delete the text in the code box and then paste the code we have provided you.
Step seven: Save your pixel
Press Save at the top of the screen (the white box).
Step eight: Connect your pixel
Press Connect at the top of the screen. The Connect button will only be available to press once you have pressed save. If you do not press connect, the pixel will not connect to our server.
Step nine: Check your pixel is connected
Once you press Connect, you will be taken back to the Customer Events screen. Ensure the pixel is 'connected' with the status connected in green, like the below image.
Once your pixel is connected, please let your Account Manager know and we'll check the integration is complete.
