You must approved into a program to use iris

iris works specifically for programs you have been approved into.

If you have not been approved into a program, then you will not be able to access the products within that program or generate an iris link.

For example: if you want to promote a Coros Apex 4 then you must be approved into Coros’ program(s) to utilise iris links.

Creating an iris link

1. Type the name of the product into the search bar

If you know the exact product name or you are on the website of the product, just copy and paste the name of the product.

If you cannot find a product name, it could be that:

  • You are not approved into a specific retailer > click My retailers and check you are approved, or;
  • The product name is too specific or too broad > adjust your search term

2. If there are variants of a product, select the variant you’d like to promote.

Variants are size or colour specific. You can check if the size/colour is available across merchants by clicking ‘Select this variant‘ on each product block. On the right hand side, the Product information will populate with that information.

3. Select your geo preferences / lock off (optional)

If you have a preference for which retailer you would traffic to go to, then select them from the dropdown. If you cannot see a retailer, it is because they:

  • Do not have that product in stock, or
  • You are not approved into their affiliate program
Preference takes precedence over ‘Any‘ on the dropdown. The traffic will go to that site UNLESS that site runs out of stock. If they run out of stock, the traffic will go to the next available retailer.

If you would like to lock your traffic to a specific retailer, you can click Strict lock and the traffic will only go to that retailer.

4. Press Create your link

A pop-up will appear with your link. Press Copy link or the clipboard icon to copy the link.

FAQS

How many links does iris create?

iris is one link, forever. You do not need to create other links for the same product – iris will do all the heavy lifting for you – so you can just post one single link.

Can I adjust my geo-preferences when I've created a link?

iris V2.0 will allow you to adjust your geo-preferences / lock-offs once the link has been created. iris V2.0 is due to be launched in February.

Where are my iris links saved?

iris saves all your iris links into the My iris links section. This is available in the iris links tab on your menu.

iris links are separate to standard links, so they will not live in the same place.

How does iris match products?

iris uses barcode data to match products across our database, supplied to us through product feeds from retailers/merchants/brands.

Can you import products from outside of Avelon?

iris, in its current form, is only available within the Avelon ecosystem. For products to be available within iris, the retailer must be integrated within Avelon.

I can't find a product, but I'm approved into the program

99% of all products have barcodes, but smaller brands may not have barcodes just yet or may not have a product feed uploaded to Avelon.

If you cannot find a product, just drop us an email and we’ll investigate why a product isn’t surfacing.

What happens when there is no stock available for a product anymore, but I have an iris link?

iris uses a fallback mechanism to ensure a cookie is still dropped on a user when products are no longer available. These fallback retailers are set by Avelon but in the future, will be set by you, depending on who you would like to drive traffic to, or who provides the best conversion rate.
