How to create affiliate links on Avelon

I already have an affiliate link - do I need to create another?

When you are approved / accepted into an affiliate program, Avelon will automatically create an affiliate link to that programs homepage of the website. 

This will be sent to you via email and assign to your My Links tab in your Dashboard.

This affiliate link is to the homepage of the programs website. If you would like to create another affiliate link to a specific product page, then you will need to create a new affiliate link.

How do affiliate links work?

Affiliate links are not the same as standard links. 

Affiliate links are structured in a way that once someone clicks the link, the affiliate network (Avelon) can drop a first-party cookie on the user and track them for a finite amount of time (attribution window).

When posting a link from Avelon, you must make sure you are posting a link that has the below structure:

If the link does not have the avln.me section within it, it is not an affiliate tracking link and no clicks or sales will be tracked.

How to create an affiliate link on Avelon

To create an affiliate link, just go to:

  1. My Retailers
  2. Click the yellow Generate Link button next to the program you’d like to create a link for 
  3. Paste the URL into the URL box
  4. Name the link
  5. Press Generate

Once the link has been generated, it will be available to copy. 

You can also access your new link in My Links. This page is available from your Dashboard:

From this page, you can:

  1. View link info
  2. Copy the affiliate link
  3. Generate an anchor tag
  4. Create a QR code
  5. Test the affiliate link destination
  6. Cancel the affiliate linke
 

Where are my affiliate links stored?

Your affiliate links are stored in My Links. This page is available from your Dashboard. You will also be emailed a copy of your new affiliate link to your account email.

How to test the destination of my affiliate link

To test the destination of your affiliate link, go to:

  1. My Links > press the destination icon on the left of the red ‘x’.

How to copy your affiliate link

To copy your affiliate link, go to:

  1. My Links > press the clipboard icon

How to create a QR code for my affiliate link

To create a QR code for your affiliate link, go to:

  1. My Links > press the QR code icon
  2. A new page will open > right-click and press Save image to save your QR code

How often are clicks and sales updated on my affiliate link?

Clicks and sales are updated in real-time on your Avelon Dashboard. Once a click or sale has been registered, it will update immediately on your Dashboard.

We send you a roundup email for the previous day at 0800 / 0900 UK time. This providers a simple breakdown of your sales for the previous day – but you can go to Sales Explorer to find a full breakdown of your sales.
